2009 NFL Mock Draft selections

With the draft being less then a month away, I give you some idea on what redskins are looking for in the 1st round on draft day. Here are mock selections the redskins could pick on according to some draft experts.

ESPN: Brian Orakpo, DE Texas
NFL.com: Tyson Jackson, DE LSU.
Profootballtalk.com: Aaron Maybin, DE Penn State

Basically, all of these experts expect the skins to draft a Defensive End in the 1st round for the first time in 12 years. This isn't really surprising if you really think about it. The redskins know they have holes on the offensive line, but we see some teams play well despite a bad line like the world champion Pittsburgh Steelers for example. Plus they already brought back Derrick Dockery and they are hoping to improve on Chad Reinhart this offseason. But the pass rush was the big issue for the skins on Defense, and adding a young player on a defensive end to complement Albert Haynesworth, Andre Carter, and Phillip Daniels will greatly improve the defensive line.

UPDATE: Frank Hanrahan of ESPN 980 said that the skins could pick LB Rey Maualuga from USC, should options for a DE, or an Offensive Linemen is not available.
